This is a Mexican Holiday, Aztec actually, for remembering those loved now departed. The Aztecs had a fixation with death much of which is reflected in the modern holiday. Traditionally it starts with a village procession, the graves are fixed up and decorated, an altar in the home displaying flowers, photos and objects the departed cherished, then a family meal is shared between the living and the dead. The first day of activities is to honor the departed children, The "Day of the Littel Angels". Hollywood has taken this holiday an extra step ... but the again that is Hollywood.
