Las Posadas
Originally, I intended just to shoot Las Posadas, a Mexican tradition which re-enacts the travels of Joseph and Mary as they sought out shelter on the night of Jesus' birth.
I realized that in many different ways Olvera Street, the first street of Los Angeles and location where settlers marched nine miles from nearby Mission San Gabriel, broke ground under a giant Oak Tree and created the City of Angels, and La Posada were similar.
The following images are of both Olvera Street and the Posada, a passing glimpse of a small fragment of Los Angeles and Mexico.
